When you get ready to start your day, you really should make sure your camera is properly positioned beforehand. You dont want to waste valuable time working on your camera, when you could be entertaining a client. Also, you want to make sure that your clients see what you want them to see, and nothing more.
That’s good advice for anyone who may move their equipment around. I have a room in my house dedicated to work, so everything is stationary. I do check everyday, though, to make sure everything is aligned properly.
I work in a studio and we have wall mounted TV monitors with the webcam mounted on top of the tv so you have full freedom to walk around the room (for the most part), you can stand up, dance, zoom it right in on the bed. Cam up high (at about 5′) is definitely the way to go.
